Four On The Move

St. Stephan Cathedral Our 3-day itinerary in Vienna in late November, including the Christmas markets. Dates: 24-27 November 2023 Group: 4 adults, 4 kids ages 4-12 Day 1 We arrived on a Friday afternoon and after checking in, headed straight to the St. Stephan Platz , for the first feel of the city. There is a Christmas market around the cathedral, with lots of local hand-crafted products, food and drinks. We visited the cathedral , enjoyed its Christmas illumination from the outside, and then took a walk via Graben , then main pedestrian street, also beautifully decorated for Christmas. We passed by the Spanish Riding School and, as a big part of our group are horse lovers, enjoyed a sneak at the horses standing in their stalls in the school’s back yard. We were interested in booking a training session to watch them in action, but unfortunately there were no sessions taking place during our stay (the calendar can be checked on their website). Day 1 Drive from home and arrival in Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina Drive from Poland to Mostar - our longest drive in this trip, around 15h including refreshment stops on the way. We made it! After arrival in Mostar – an evening walk in the old town and dinner in one of the restaurants with a view of the river. We watched people jump into the river, enjoyed some ice cream and souvenirs shopping (Lenka now brings a small figurine from every new place for her collection, while Laura is in a phase of literally wanting to buy every single thing she can see;)).  Lenka and I visited the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque and climbed up the stairs to the top of the minaret, for some of the best views of the Mostar old bridge . Andalucia has some quite obvious must-see places, especially for first time travellers . Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, all three with stunning historical sights, as well as popular Malaga or picturesque Ronda, will surely be on that list. But if you have more time, or come here again, take another path and see Andalucia through its white villages – pueblos blancos. Usually located on top of the hills and off main roads, they are worth the (sometimes adventurous) road trip, which will be full of stunning views. Here are some of our favourite white villages, but there are many others, depending on the parts of Andalucia you visit. Torrox (pueblo) I will start with the least obvious and least touristy town, which was our home for a month in August 2022. We have a lot of sentiment for this place and would recommend it for a visit if you wish to stroll through a relatively quiet village, with remarkably fewer tourists than other places on this list.
